So, what is Sparkle?

I started Sparkle a little over six months ago, by designing jewelry in the Philippines while I was visitng for the summer. I have gone to the Philippines every year since I was six months old and have always loved the beach, the coconut trees, and of course, seashells! I wanted to design jewelry that was unique and beautiful, something different and eye-catching that people would love to wear. I spent a summer designing the pieces you see on my website. All of them are designed by me, using components and shells directly from the Philippine islands. Shells are absolutely beautiful, and I love being able to capture their natural beauty in my jewelry. Creativity is Beautiful

Hello everyone, Welcome to my blog! I wasn't exactly sure how to write my first post, this is my first blog and I've never done anything like this before, (plus, introductions are usually always the hardest part), but I decided to just dive in and introduce myself.

My name is Monika. 
I'm 19 and a sophomore in college
I believe that creativity and artistry is beautiful and should be celebrated.
I admire artists who can see potential where others can't and look at life it a completely different way
Jewelry is my passion, I absolutely love it!! 
I also love to scrapbook, paint, draw,and all things crafty and artistic
Dancing and music has also always been a love of mine
I'm the owner/designer of Sparkle. 
I started Sparkle in order do what I love, and help pay for college while doing it! 
Eventually I want to become a full time jewelry designer and make Sparkle my full time job.
The jewelry I design is inspired by some of the most beautiful natural wonders of the sea: seashells! I'll add more about my jewelry in my next post.

So what is this blog going to be about? It will be about my passion for jewelry, my love for unique beads and jewelry components, an my interest in all thinks artistic: scrapbooking, painting, collage, photography, dancing, drawing, and music! I love Etsy, I think it's a great place for artists to sell their pieces and showcase their amazing talents. Whenever I find a great artist on Etsy or someone with unique works, I love to share them with others who are passionate about jewelry and art as well. 

I will be using this blog to let my customers know of featured or new pieces that are added to my website, and as a way to share my inspiration about a particular piece of jewelry. I will also have special discounts and offers for those who read and subscribe to my blog. Through this blog, I can connect with my customers so that they can get to know the artist behind the jewelry.
